Transforming Lives.
We're a group of high schoolers in San Diego raising money for kids who need it. Most of it goes to Moms Against Poverty. The rest we're building locally, one pizza run at a time.
Student-run. No overhead. Every dollar goes out.
Where we're at
Started with a bake sale. Still going.
SAP is 15 students who got tired of just talking about poverty in class. So far we've raised $5,600 and sent all of it to Moms Against Poverty. Here's what's next.
Goals
$10K for MAPS
Double what we've raised by the end of the school year.
First food drive
Set up outside a grocery store, fill a car with canned goods, drop it all at a San Diego food bank.
Care packages, monthly
Pizza night was the first one. We want to make it a regular thing: food, water, socks, handed out in person.
Global impact
Where the money actually goes.
All $5,600 we've raised has gone to Moms Against Poverty. They run programs in Iran, Senegal, and the US, plus emergency aid in 14 more countries: school supplies, meals, clinics, care for orphaned kids. In 2025 they reached over 5 million people.
Our part of that is small. It still counts.
Local impact
And some of it stays here.
San Diego has a lot of people sleeping outside. We're not going to fix that. But we can show up.
Pizza night
We pooled some money, bought a stack of pizzas, and handed out slices and water to people on the street. Video's right here.
Food drive
Coming up. First one's in the works.
Kitchen shifts
Coming up. Run a kitchen? Reach out below.
How we make the money
No galas. Mostly folding tables.
Bake sales
Cookies, brownies, a hand-painted sign. This is how SAP started and it still works.
Charity After Hours
A DJ night at school. $15 a ticket, pizza included, all profit to MAPS. Biggest one we've done.
Beach cleanups
Not a fundraiser, just service. Bags, gloves, a couple hours, and the beach looks better than when we got there.
The students
Fifteen of us.
No adults running this. Just students who wanted to do something that actually mattered.
Donate
Your money doesn't sit around.
No office, no salaries, nothing to pay for. What you give goes to MAPS and to the local stuff we're building.
